Bright Flow

Warranty

Standard Gutter and Downspout Limited Labor Warranty (“Labor Warranty”)

This Labor Warranty guarantees the guttering systems installed by BrightFlow for five (5) years from the date of installation against sagging, pulling loose, leaking, or not functioning properly due to improper installation. All claims must be submitted in writing or via email to BrightFlow. This warranty is not transferable.

What is NOT Covered: This Labor Warranty does not cover defects or product failures resulting from:

  • Natural Disasters/Act-of-God: Including but not limited to lightning, hurricanes, hail, earthquakes, flood, tornadoes, and falling objects.
  • Structural Issues: Damage caused by settling, cracking, movement, shifting, distorting, or splitting of the property’s structure (walls, roofs, foundations, fascia, or rafters).
  • Drainage/Ventilation Issues: Inadequate or improper ventilation, water accumulation, ice damming, or mold due to structural deficiencies or insufficient drainage.
  • Negligence/Deliberate Acts: Damage caused by the purchaser, workmen, or any other person during installation or maintenance of surrounding surfaces.
  • Normal Wear and Tear: As per manufacturer specifications (manufacturer has final say on product replacement).
  • Aesthetics and Erosion: Color fading, staining, replacement of rotten wood, water behind gutters without eave metal, or any erosion.
  • Materials Not Provided by BrightFlow.
  • Expansion/Contraction: Of windows, siding, roofing, concrete, or trim.
  • Improper Maintenance: Including, but not limited to, clogging caused by leaves or debris.

BrightFlow is not responsible for general maintenance, inspections, or cleaning of the guttering systems. Gutter cleanings are not covered by any warranty.

Service Call Fees: A fee will be incurred for any service call requested after 90 days of initial install if:

  1. Gutters must be cleaned to access the repair area.
  2. The reported problem is due to customer neglect (e.g., clogging).
  3. This includes service calls to replace rotted wood due to neglected cleaning or maintenance.

Water Behind Gutters: Rain gutters are not designed to be watertight against the fascia board. Water running behind the gutter is usually caused by:

  • Short, broken, old, or curled-under shingles wicking water back onto the fascia board.
  • Roof shingle pockets allowing water to track behind the fascia board, potentially causing rotting.
  • Faulty or missing flashing (around chimneys, vent stacks, etc.).

These issues are not caused by the BrightFlow gutter system and are not covered under this Labor Warranty.

Peripheral Issues and Third-Party Work:

  • BrightFlow is not responsible for peripheral issues like leaf buildup, clogging, cleaning dirty gutters, or problems with drainage/dry-well systems.
  • BrightFlow will not replace a non-faulty component while replacing a faulty one under warranty.
  • BrightFlow is not responsible for work done by another person or contractor on the gutter system after our installation (e.g., changes to roof pitch, shingle overhang, new roof/shingles, or drip edge installation).

Warranty Voidance:

  • Installation, removal, repair, adjustment, tampering, or re-installation of any BrightFlow guttering system or component by anyone other than BrightFlow voids all warranties.
  • Failure to deliver payment in full based on the original signed contract price voids all warranties.

Liability: BrightFlow shall not be liable for injury to persons or damage to property, structure, or contents, or for incidental, special, or consequential damages for breach of any written or implied warranty on defects in workmanship. BrightFlow retains the right to select the contractor if any warranty work must be subcontracted.

Making a Claim: To make a warranty claim and set up a service call, photos and in some cases videos of the area(s) in question are required.

Rain Gutter FAQs

It is important to be informed about the installation, cleaning, and maintenance of your seamless rain gutter system. BrightFlow, your trustworthy resource, offers this list of FAQs. Please contact us with any unlisted questions.

Gutter streaks, or “Tiger Striping,” are caused by a buildup of dirt, pollen, and pollution on the top lip. When moisture streams down the face, it leaves a trail of grime. This is a natural process that happens to many surfaces, not a paint or system failure.

Clean the outside of your gutters using a non-abrasive household detergent with a soft rag, sponge, or soft-bristle brush with an extension handle. Do not rub vigorously, and rinse immediately with a freshwater hose. For stubborn stains, a heavy-duty cleaner such as Fantastik can be used. Do not use cleaners containing abrasive particles, ammonia, solvents, or paint removers.

Fading or an uneven, blotchy appearance is usually caused by the use of spray paint for touch-ups or coating large sections, a practice we strongly discourage. Spray paint is not durable, fades quickly, and coats unevenly. The paint finish on our BrightFlow aluminum gutter products is baked-on enamel for lasting beauty. Brush-on touch-up paint is available for minor nicks and scratches.
